Summer is here, which means new Rebuilding Careers opportunities to bring job seekers the tools they need to find meaningful employment. At Working Wardrobes, we are also looking forward to increased volunteering due to lighter schedules that come with summer, and are excited to announce some upcoming Q3 events and opportunities.

Upcoming Q3 Events and Opportunities

2022 gala save the date2022 Annual Gala

Save the date for our annual gala! On September 24th, Working Wardrobes will host Growing Through the Decades, a night to reflect on our first 3 decades of helping job seekers.  Join us for this evening at the Bowers museum with open-air dining, silent and live auctions, entertainment and opportunities to contribute to making a difference! Your reservation, sponsorship, and/or contributions to the auction helps empower clients to self-sufficiency through The Power of a Paycheck™! To become a sponsor or to donate auction items, please email us at DevelopmentTeam@workingwardobes.org or visit here.

Fashion Island Donor Event

There are plenty of ways to support Working Wardrobes through retail. In addition to visiting The Hanger Boutique or Outlet stores, shop for a cause AND discover up and coming fashion trends. The team of stylists at Fashion Island shopping center in Newport Beach partnered with St. John Boutique in the Center to host YOU as special guests for an evening of shopping and a holiday looks and cruise trends presentation. Prior to the main event, enjoy a cocktail hour with champagne and light bites. A percentage of event sales will be donated to Working Wardrobes which means more job seekers receiving workforce development and full wrap-around services. Look out for an official announcement for the December event date.

Rebuilding Careers Opps - CSRVolunteer Opportunities

There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer this summer, both for individuals and groups. Individuals that want to work hand-in-hand with job seekers can help as personal shoppers in The Hanger Boutiques, sorting garments at the Donation Center, sharing administrative skills by volunteering at the office, or help with coordinating special events. Professionals and businesses can get involved by participating in Corporate Social Responsibility Days, or lending industry expertise to job seekers in Orange County. Organizational Initiatives

In line with our Strategic Plan, in Q3 we will continue recruiting new Board members that can contribute unique areas of expertise that ultimately guide our organization’s mission and strategic plan. Amidst the Great Resignation and Reshuffle, we will continue to implement a slew of employee retention strategies that aim to maintain the high-caliber professionals that comprise our team. One such strategy includes Working Wardrobes University, strengthening the resources of our team of Change Makers by providing ongoing educational and professional development opportunities. Our efforts to boost clients served by identifying and pursuing new funders, developing relationships, and applying for grants and contracts at the local, state, and federal level will also continue. With your support, we change lives every day. You can help achieve our mission by joining the Rebuilding Careers Coalition or by becoming a Success Club member by making monthly contributions. Your support fuels our mission, and with more dollars we can make more impact in the lives of individuals we serve. Learn more about our 2022 initiatives.
