This summer, Janelle Castro brought her passion for community impact and organizational excellence to Working Wardrobes as our People Operations Intern. Throughout her internship, she supported the People Operations team with goal-driven projects, volunteer email management, organizational templates, and even stepped in as a Front Desk Ambassador whenever an extra helping hand was needed.
Janelle was inspired to volunteer after learning about the legacy of Working Wardrobes founder Jerri Rosen and her belief that passion and hard work can create lasting change. Looking ahead, Janelle hopes to one day start a nonprofit of her own that serves the community and expands opportunities for individuals to thrive.
When asked about her favorite part of volunteering, Janelle didn’t hesitate to recognize the people who made her experience so meaningful.

One project that stands out to Janelle is developing an outreach plan designed to keep volunteers engaged and connected. She hopes the framework she created will serve as a strong foundation that future volunteers can continue to build upon and improve.
Janelle believes one of Working Wardrobes’ greatest impacts comes through the Wardrobe Department, where professional styling helps restore confidence and create new opportunities.
