For more than 11 years, Vira Jo Denney has been a dedicated Career Coach with Working Wardrobes, helping clients uncover their unique strengths and chart a path toward meaningful employment.
Through career assessments and insightful “True Colors” discussions, Vira Jo helps clients understand how their personalities align with different types of work. Her thoughtful approach not only guides job seekers in identifying their ideal roles but also equips them with the tools to conduct effective job searches and approach opportunities with confidence.
A supporter and friend of Working Wardrobes for over 35 years, Vira commitment runs deep. What inspires her most is seeing the lightbulb moment—when a client realizes that, despite obstacles, they can land a job and take charge of their future.
“Being able to help people and seeing the lightbulb come on when they realize they have a chance to land a job regardless of obstacles—that’s what keeps me coming back,” Vira shared.
Her most memorable moments come from seeing clients take her advice to heart, apply it, and return to share the exciting news that they’ve been hired. For Vira, Working Wardrobes’ impact lies in its heart for people.
“It’s an organization that truly cares about everyone and works diligently to help people find jobs and a paycheck to make their lives better,” she said.
Outside of volunteering, Vira Jo has a creative side—she’s an avid quilter and also loves to play golf. Looking ahead, she’s excited about the organization’s continued growth and hopes to see more youth engagement around financial literacy, job readiness, and self-sufficiency.
