Since joining Working Wardrobes in March as a People Operations Intern, Lynette Lopez has brought both heart and skill to her volunteer role. In her position, Lynette supports the HR/People Operations team by managing the volunteer inbox, streamlining onboarding processes, and assisting with special projects that strengthen our volunteer programs. She has even created onboarding packets to ensure new volunteers feel prepared and supported from the start.
For Lynette, the decision to volunteer with Working Wardrobes was deeply personal. "Helping individuals in the community overcome barriers is something that I hold close to my own heart," she explains. "Working Wardrobes aligns closely with my values, and it's been a great way to gain more experience in HR while also making a difference in the community."
One of the highlights of her time with us has been contributing to the Volunteer Recognition Event. Lynette enjoyed preparing thank-you notes for fellow volunteers and playing a part in celebrating their impact. "It made me feel more connected to the mission and grateful for the community of volunteers. It reminded me how rewarding it is to be part of something bigger than myself," she shares.
Through her work, Lynette has seen firsthand the lasting impact Working Wardrobes has on the community. She believes the organization's greatest strength is how it helps individuals overcome barriers to employment. "Clients are treated with respect and given more than clothes—they're provided with amazing support and guidance that give them confidence and resources to succeed," she says.
When she isn't volunteering, Lynette loves learning about different cultures and teaching herself new languages—a passion that reflects her curiosity and dedication to growth. Looking ahead, she is most excited to see how Working Wardrobes continues to expand its reach and make a difference in even more lives.
We're grateful to have Lynette as part of our team and to celebrate the many ways she helps us carry out our mission.
