Meet Ricky

Ricky’s journey with Working Wardrobes has been anything but easy. After relocating to California through a recovery program that offered continued care and a fresh start, Ricky found himself in unfamiliar territory—far from home and struggling to find stable footing.
Back home, Ricky had built a career in construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator. But in California, rebuilding that career felt nearly impossible. Many jobs required certifications or transportation—neither of which he had access to. On top of that, Ricky experienced extreme housing instability, moving three times in just a few months.
Still, he refused to give up. Determined to move forward, Ricky showed up to Working Wardrobes every day—job searching, attending workshops, and tackling the barriers in his way one by one.
His persistence paid off. After five months of hard work and unwavering determination, Ricky secured a role as a Heavy Equipment Operator with a private contractor supporting the Los Angeles fire cleanup. Not only did he land a job in his field—he became the highest-paid client on record at Working Wardrobes.
Today, Ricky is back on his feet, doing what he loves, and proving that resilience and support can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
Congratulations, Ricky!
