Meet Kimberly
Kimberly’s journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, transformation is possible.
After incarceration, Kimberly entered transitional housing through HealthRIGHT 360’s FOTEP program in Pomona. Determined to rebuild her life, she enrolled in Working Wardrobes’ 8-week career readiness cohort. There, she gained more than just job skills—she found a community that believed in her potential.
Today, Kimberly is thriving as a dog groomer at Petco, a role that not only brings her joy but also reflects her passion and persistence. She recently purchased her own car—a huge milestone on her road to independence. But perhaps most inspiring is how she now pays it forward: Kimberly dedicates time to mentoring other women in transitional housing, connecting them with resources and encouragement as they navigate their own journeys.
“I’m very happy now. I’m settling in and learning the system at Petco. It was challenging at first, but I’m getting the hang of it,” Kimberly shares. “My advice is to never stop searching no matter what! Somebody will hire you—just keep pushing and keep a positive attitude like I did.
Working Wardrobes was very helpful, clean, organized, and fun. Without you all, I wouldn’t have made it this far!”
Kimberly’s story is proof that second chances, paired with compassion and practical support, can change lives. Thanks to strategic partnerships and wraparound services, she’s not just surviving—she’s thriving. And she’s inspiring others to believe they can too.
