At Working Wardrobes, our volunteers bring passion, talent, and heart to everything they do. This month, we’re excited to spotlight Katrina Rebancos, who recently completed a 10-week internship as a Marketing Intern.

As she prepares to graduate and begin her own professional journey, Katrina was inspired to give back because she understands just how important confidence and career readiness can be.

“As someone who is preparing to enter the workforce soon after I graduate, I have a lot of empathy for taking those next steps. I understand that many people don’t have the same resources and come from different backgrounds that can make it difficult to feel confident. That motivated me to support those who need assistance and help spread awareness of the organization.”

During her internship, Katrina worked alongside the marketing team, creating promotional graphics, flyers, videos, newsletters, and email campaigns that helped share Working Wardrobes’ mission with the community. Along the way, she also gained valuable professional experience that will serve her well throughout her career.

One of the things Katrina appreciated most was the welcoming culture she found at Working Wardrobes.

“I enjoyed meeting the staff as well as learning new marketing skills and strategies. Everyone created a welcoming environment that helped make my transition into a professional setting easier. Working alongside Alex was especially meaningful because she was a supportive mentor who taught me marketing tools that I’ll continue to use throughout my career.”

When asked about her favorite project, Katrina immediately thought of creating the recap video for our Suit Up for Success event.

“It was a wonderful experience capturing the community coming together to donate professional clothing,” she shared. “I loved being able to document those special moments and show the public the impact the event had on so many people.”

Through experiences like these, Katrina witnessed firsthand how Working Wardrobes empowers individuals to build brighter futures.

She believes the organization’s greatest impact comes from the confidence and opportunities it provides to job seekers.

“I think the biggest impact Working Wardrobes has on the community is providing employment readiness opportunities like resume building, professional clothing, and mentorship. These services help clients grow, gain confidence, and successfully enter the workforce.”

As she looks ahead, Katrina hopes even more people will discover Working Wardrobes and the life-changing support the organization provides.

“I’m excited for more people to become aware of the organization so that everyone who can benefit from it has the opportunity to receive the assistance they need.”

Thank you, Katrina, for sharing your creativity, enthusiasm, and compassion with Working Wardrobes. Volunteers like you help us amplify our mission and expand our impact every day. We wish you all the best as you begin the next chapter of your career!
