Meet David

David walked through the doors of Working Wardrobes with determination, hope, and a clear vision for his future. Just two months after returning home following 15 years of incarceration, he was ready to rebuild his life through meaningful employment, stable housing, and healthy relationships—and he was willing to put in the work to get there.

From the very beginning, David showed extraordinary commitment to his goals. With the support of Working Wardrobes’ individualized career navigation and coaching, he began taking confident steps forward. In a short time, he secured a position as an Administrative Assistant with Project Kinship and enrolled at Rancho Santiago Community College, where he is pursuing studies in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

Along the way, Working Wardrobes provided David with professional work attire, a laptop for school, transportation assistance, and food support—ensuring he had the tools he needed to focus on building a better future. More importantly, he found encouragement, guidance, and a community that believed in his potential.

Today, David continues to grow as a professional, student, and leader. His resilience, strong work ethic, and dedication to personal growth reflect what’s possible when opportunity meets determination.

In David’s own words:

“Through the help of Working Wardrobes and amazing case managers like you, you provided help to succeed in life and gave me a second opportunity of being successful. You don’t even know how much of a blessing you are. Keep on that shine and hope. I hope this gives you that second energy to know that your work matters and is giving hope to others.”

David’s journey is a powerful reminder that second chances, paired with compassion and support, can transform lives—and that every investment in people creates ripples of hope for generations to come.
