Meet Jerome

When Jerome first came to Working Wardrobes, he carried the weight of not just his own challenges, but those of his family. Living in a homeless shelter with his children, Jerome was determined to stabilize their lives and find a way forward.

From the very beginning, he was open and honest with his career navigator about his situation and his urgent need for change. In response, Jerome was quickly connected with community resources to ensure his family’s basic needs were met. With that immediate support in place, he was able to shift his focus to preparing for employment—polishing his resume, practicing interview skills, and rebuilding his confidence.

Not long after, an opportunity arose: a full-time position, with overtime, helping to clean up after the devastating Los Angeles fires. Many might have been daunted by the hard labor, but Jerome saw it differently. For him, it was a chance to provide for his family and to contribute to healing a community in the wake of tragedy. He embraced the work with steady dedication and a grateful heart.

Today, Jerome is thriving in his role, consistent in his work ethic, and already exploring new housing options for his family. He shares his deep gratitude for the support he received—support that gave him the chance to rebuild his life with dignity and purpose.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the help and the opportunity,” Jerome says.

Way to go, Jerome—you inspire us all!
