As we prepare for our 35th Anniversary Gala, The Power of One, we are proud to honor six outstanding individuals as our 2024 Suit Society Honorees. Each one represents the spirit of service, leadership, and generosity that fuels our mission—and today, we’re thrilled to spotlight one of them: Matt Clark.
Matt Clark
Senior Vice President – PIMCO
Matt’s story begins in the hills of San Francisco, where he was raised in a tight-knit community and shaped by Jesuit values. After earning an ROTC scholarship, he attended Trinity University in Texas—where he gained a degree and a lifelong partner, his wife Margery.
Matt went on to serve in the U.S. Army as an aviation and intelligence officer from 1992 to 2000, with assignments that took him from Alabama to South Korea. Following his military service, he traded his uniform for a suit and tie, earning an MBA and launching a career in finance. Today, he’s Senior Vice President at PIMCO, where he’s spent over two decades helping people make sense of markets and their money.
Matt’s commitment to Working Wardrobes comes from a deep belief in second chances—and the power of showing up for others. As someone who’s transitioned between vastly different worlds, Matt understands how critical confidence and support can be in forging a new path.
He’s also known for his humor, his faith, his love of a good Mission District burrito (as featured on NPR!), and his ability to deliver a dad joke with perfect timing—usually to the delight (or eye-rolls) of his daughters, Julianne and Mariel.
