On June 26, 2025, the Working Wardrobes community came together in deep love and reflection to honor the extraordinary life of our founder, Jerri Rosen. Held at the Career Success Center, the Celebration of Life was filled with heartfelt stories, laughter, tears, and an unwavering commitment to carry Jerri’s legacy forward.
CEO Bonni Pomush opened the ceremony by reminding us all that her role exists because of Jerri’s vision, tenacity, and boundless compassion. “Jerri didn’t just found Working Wardrobes—she forged it. From equal parts grit and glamour, empathy and excellence.” What began in 1990 as a one-day event for 67 women has grown into a movement that has served over 135,000 clients—individuals facing barriers to employment, including those impacted by homelessness, incarceration, military transitions, and more.
A Legacy Reflected in Every Voice
The Orange County Board of Supervisors (represented by Supervisor Sarmiento’s office) presented the organization with a proclamation and memoriam, in addition to recently adjourning a meeting in Jerri’s memory—an honor rarely given. Jerri’s legacy touched every district in the county and inspired action at every level, from elected officials to employees who proudly held clothing drives in her honor.
The program featured moving remarks from individuals who worked closely with Jerri:
- Megan Klink, former staff member, reflected on Jerri’s “gravitational pull,” her unmatched energy, and her insistence on asking for what the mission needed—while always thinking about how to give back in return. “We are all still in her orbit,” Megan shared. “Every volunteer, every donor, every partnership can be traced back to her. That’s what a true legacy looks like.”
- Justin Frame, former Board Chair, recalled Jerri’s unshakable leadership during the 2020 fire that destroyed Working Wardrobes’ headquarters. “She didn’t bat an eye. She just took a deep breath and said, ‘Here’s what we’re doing.’” Her tenacity, resilience, and refusal to give up inspired everyone around her.
- Richard Ward, philanthropist and longtime supporter, invited investing in planned giving, in Jerri’s memory, to ensure the mission lives in perpetuity. As one of the first members of the Jerri Rosen Legacy Society “When someone with that much heart asks you to do something meaningful, you do it,” he said, urging others to honor her by planning for Working Wardrobes’ future.
Honoring Jerri Through Action
Following the program, guests were invited to explore several interactive spaces throughout the Career Success Center. From a video memory station and legacy timeline to styling sign-ups and dedication walls, every detail reflected Jerri’s belief that “love is in the details.” Her favorite shoes, snapshots from her travels, and a framed photo surrounded by handwritten one-word tributes stood as gentle, joyful reminders of the vibrant life she lived.
Delicious food was generously provided by Zov’s, and the space was beautifully adorned with floral arrangements donated by longtime supporter Melissa Pearl—two details Jerri would have absolutely loved.
