The U.S. Navy. A Labradoodle. Outrageous Tennies...; All were part of the "Black Tie & Tennies" Gala event that raised $235,000 to help bring Working Wardrobes career services to adults in crises -On Saturday, November 3, 2007, nearly 250 guests gathered at The Fairmont, Newport Beach to show off their outrageously decorated tennies while celebrating the moving success storeis from Working Wardrobes' programs. Presented by Sprint and sponsored by PIMCO, the evening moved to high gear during the live auction as guests had the opportunity to bid on a rare Navy Seahawk Helicopter experience, a gourmet meal by chef-to-the-stars Martin Gilligan, a cruise in the Christmas Newport Boat Parade with meal catered by Chef Pasqual, and a Labradoodle puppy. WORKING WARDROBES GOES TO WASHINGTON, DC!; Orange County-based Nonprofit to Lead 4th Annual Capitol PurSuit Clothing Drive While Taking Next Steps for Significant New Market Expansion-In the best of what collaborative efforts can create, Working Wardrobes has partnered with the Men's Wearhouse and the American League of Lobbyists to host the fourth annual Capitol PurSuit drive. The June 27 drive encourages donors from Congressional offices, Caucuses and lobbying firms to bring gently-loved men's and women's business attire to the Rayburn House Office Building foyer from 10 am - 2 pm in a huge bipartisan effort to get thousands of Americans back to work. DESIGNING WOMEN, FASHIONS AND LOCAL PHILANTHROPISTS RAISED $105,000 TO HELP GET ADULTS IN CRISES BACK TO WORK; 2007 Baubles, Bangles & Bags High Fashion High Tea Benefited Working Wardrobes -On Sunday, June 3, intricately designed purse-shaped paddles quickly flew into the air as nearly 500 women bid on live auction items ranging from Larry King's autographed suspenders (a perfect gift for Father's Day!) to a Hawaiian get-away. Hosted by the Designing Women Guild to benefit the clients of Working Wardrobes, the 2007 Baubles, Bangles & Bags was a stylish success, raising more than $100,000 in only the event's second year. WORKING WARDROBES APPOINTS FOUR NEW BOARD MEMBERS-Working Wardrobes, the premiere nonprofit helping get adults in crises back to work, announced the appointments of four new members to its Board of Director. 125 MEN TO PUT NEW IMAGE TO WORK DURING DAY OF SELF-ESTEEM; Event helping take men from crises to self-sufficiency celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the Men's Wearhouse Sponsorship-On Saturday, April 28, Working Wardrobes will celebrate ten years of serving men in crises when it hosts the 2007 Men's Day of Self-Esteem. The 125 men participating from local residential treatment programs will receive working wardrobes and haircuts, hear guest speaker Raphael Natale, and participate in mock-interviews and a career fair. UGLY BETTY'S BECKI NEWTON TO HELP TURN DREAMS INTO REALITY FOR 500 LOW-INCOME TEENS DURING "CINDERELLA FOR LIFE" EVENT; Newton will join 350 voluntters at Working Wardrobes' annual prom dress event-Cinderellas for Life is an annual event hosted by Working Wardrobes. Participating "Cinderellas" will attend workshops on goal-setting and etiquette, and will select a dream prom dress and all the accessories. Working Wardrobes has partnered with local agencies such as Orangewood Children's Foundation and the Garden Grove Unified School District to serve 500 young women in economic need and foster care. DREAMS BECOME REALITY DURING ANNUAL PROM DRESS EVENT; Working Wardrobes' Cinderellas for Life Event to Benefit Young Women in Need-Planning on the fifth-annual Cinderellas for Life, held by Working Wardrobes, is underway. The 2007 Cinderellas for Life, which benefits local foster youth and young women in economic need, is expected to help more than 400 young ladies from the community prepare for their prom, and their future. All Were Part of the "Black Tie & Tennies" Gala Event that Raised $150,000 to Fund Working Wardrobes' New Career Development Center-On Saturday, November 4, 2006, nearly 300 guests gathered at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach to show off their outrageously decorated tennies while celebrating the moving success stories from Working Wardrobes' programs. The evening continued to rev up during the live auction as guests had the opportunity to bid on a weekend rental of a Gallardo Spyder donated by Lamborghini of Orange County, a rare experience onboard a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and a Black Labrador puppy. 125 Lives Drastically Transformed in Six Hours; 16th Annual Working Wardrobes' Women's "Day of Self Esteem" Event-On Sunday, September 17, 2006, 125 women emerging from life crises will gather at Golden West College in Huntington Beach to have their lives changed forever. They will participate in the 16th Annual Women's 'Day of Self-Esteem,' an event held by Working Wardrobes for a New Start, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Fountain Valley.
