125 Lives Drastically Transformed in Six Hours
16th Annual Working Wardrobes' Women's "Day of Self Esteem" Event

Fountain Valley, Calif - On Sunday, September 17, 2006, 125 women emerging from life crises will gather at Golden West College in Huntington Beach to have their lives changed forever. They will participate in the 16th Annual Women's 'Day of Self-Esteem,' an event held by Working Wardrobes for a New Start, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Fountain Valley.

The Women's 'Day of Self-Esteem' invites 125 'guests', from community college care programs, women's shelters, and long-term transitional living programs, to be pampered for a day. These women who are emerging from life crises including substance abuse recovery and domestic violence will be given a day of complimentary services and tools to prepare them to find jobs. Throughout the day, they will be served by over 350 community volunteers.

All of the women will take part in a self-esteem seminar, personal grooming services, presentation skills workshop, and wardrobe selection. Boeing, Hyundai Motor America, Mimi's Café, FedEx and Nordstrom are this year's generous sponsors. The event's guest speaker will be internationally recognized professional speaker Bobbie Gee. Gee is best known for her defining presentations in her niche area of corporate perception, reputation, and imaging. The event will conclude with a 'guest' finale fashion show where the women can present their new looks.

Underwriting sponsorship, clothing donations (especially plus sizes), and volunteers are needed for this event. Volunteer duties include: personal shoppers, valets, clothing wrappers, greeters and registration. If you are available to work from 7am to 4pm in one of these areas on Sunday, September 17th, please contact Working Wardrobes at (714) 210-2460. Volunteers are also needed from 8am to 4pm on set up day, Saturday, September 16th. Information about all volunteer activities at Working Wardrobes is available at www.workingwardrobes.org.
