Working Wardrobes for a new start. Helping people in crisis get back to work.

Working Wardrobes
Employee Fundraising Drive

Working Wardrobes for a New Start invites your company to assist in bringing nearly 3,000 adults emerging from crises back into the workforce this year. Just think of the opportunity this will provide to build teamwork and morale while reaching out to the community!

Be sure to ask your employer if there is a matching fund available. Please make out one final check to: Working Wardrobes.

Contact Michelle Boland at Working Wardrobes at (714) 210-2460 to set up a drive, request donation receipts, and gather additional information.

Fundraising Ideas

Here are a few creative ideas that, with a little advanced planning and word of mouth, can help your company sponsor a fundraising drive for Working Wardrobes:

  • Working Your Wardrobe! - Even though it is a function of our business to help clients develop a professional wardrobe, we recognize that the business dress code can be relaxed on occasion. So here are some ideas for dress code departures that can net positive morale for your company as well as funding for our client services. Choose a day that can be themed for relaxed dress and get the word out to your colleagues that their participation will help Working Wardrobes serve thousands of adults throughout the community. Depending on your organization's dress level, we suggest that for a $5 contribution, your colleagues can participate in:
    • Tieless Tuesday
    • Tennies on Tuesday
    • Shorts Change
    • Dollars for Denim
    • Dress Down Dollars

  • "Take a Coffee Break" - Skip your $4 latte this week and let your employer buy you coffee. Think about how much you spend on coffee to get started in the morning, and then think about how you can start a person in need on the road to success with that same amount of cash.
  • Host a "Blue Plate Special" luncheon in your department and charge employees to dine. Make it potluck or bring in food from a local restaurant. Let employees know that instead of tipping for service, they're "tipping for charity".
  • Hold a silent auction at lunch one day! Have local businesses donate items such as dinner certificates, movie passes, or pedicures. Or ramp up the fun with a white elephant auction with items donated by your staff!
  • Auction off the prime parking stalls in your lot for a week, month, or year.
  • Sponsor a Chili Cook-off! Charge an entrance fee to the cooks to cover costs of paper goods, plasticware, etc. and charge all comers per tasting samples.
