Clothing/Accessory Drive
WHAT
A Clothing and/or Accessory Drive provides clothing and/or accessories for Working Wardrobes clients. Drives can and should often be specialized. Your drive can provide for a specific Working Wardrobes event:
1st Quarter: Prom Dresses & Accessories
2nd Quarter: Men's Clothing & Accessories
3rd Quarter: Women's Clothing & Accessories
4th Quarter: Toiletries
If you have limited space, consider doing just an accessory drive and have boxes available to sort the items i.e. purses, scarves, belts, jewelry and bags.
WHEN
You can have a drive for one day or over a period of time. Some companies combine it with other events.
WHERE
At your office! What could be easier for your staff and co-workers!
WHO
Working Wardrobes helps 3,500 people annually get back to work with self-esteem and dignity. Our clients come from over 70 referral agencies such as shelters, Welfare to Work and the Department of Rehabilitation. They come from Los Angeles County, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
GUIDELINES
All clothing should be gently-worn, cleaned, pressed and on hangers. Working Wardrobes will provide racks for the clothing to be hung as it is donated.
PICK UP/DROP OFF
Working Wardrobes cannot provide pick-up or delivery services of your donations. Please take this into consideration when planning your drive. You should schedule your pick up and drop off schedule with Working Wardrobes staff prior to planning your drive so that we can be sure supplies will be available and staff/volunteers can help to load and unload.
